Ex Police Headquarter

This is one of my favorite Art Deco building with colorful windows at the facade. Built by CPW Schoemaker in 1917 and was used as Police Headquarter. Streamlines and simple, yet make one of the most important architecture achievement during art deco era in Bandung city. The building is vacant and the local municipal has still no idea what to do with this jewel.

Javasche Bank

One of the beautiful collonial architecture by Thomas Karsteen. Constructed for Bank of Java in 1931 and now is Bank of Indonesia Building. Location : Jalan Braga Bandung.

For Angels : St. Angela

Founded by Dutch Ursuline Nuns (Agustine Philipsen) in 1905 as Catholic school only for female students. The name of St. Angela was formally introduced in 1923 and now the school still exist on jalan Merdeka 24 Bandung.

Pendopo from above

One of the oldest architecture heritage in Bandung is Pendopo which located in Jalan Dalem Kaum. Build by Wiranatakusumah II during the first development of the city in eearly 19 century. It is now the official home of Bandung’s Major. Picture taken from the minaret of Great Mosque.

Pasar Selatan 6

The building is in Pecinan or Chinatown area near Pasar Baru. Located on Jalan Pasar Selatan (South Market) no. 8 and being used as store exactly behind Pasar Baru.

Villa Isola (2)

Villa Isola / Bumi Siliwangi (1)

Built in October 1932 – March 1933 for a wealthy Dutch millionaire Dominique William Berretty.  Architect : CPW Schoemaker. University of Indonesia Education use this building with the name of Bumi Siliwangi.

Red House at Banda 29

Of course I won’t be able to take the picture inside their premise without owner’s consent. However, this red house at Jalan Banda 29 Bandung really attract me due to its bright color compare to surrounding area. From what I know, local municipal registered this house as preserve building. Architect and year of build unknown.

Alkateri

Alkateri is the name of the street in old Chinatown area in Bandung. This building is one of the heritage and preserve architecture which unfortunately look abandon. Exact location of this building is on Gang (small alley) Syarif. Built in early 19 century, unknown architect.

The History of Asian African

The Museum of Asian African Conference (held in 1955). Located on Jalan Asia Afrika Bandung. Designed by CPW Schomaaker & Van Gallen Last who were rebuilt this building in 1921 as Societeit Concordia. Located on Jalan Asia Afrika Bandung.

Soekarno’s trial

Locaed on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan no. 5. This building was used during Soekarno’s trial in 1930 during Dutch occupation. Architect : CPW Schoemaker, built in 1917.
